6:50 a.m.
The pick up for the Sacred Valley ATV tour will be in the main square of Cusco, called Plaza de Armas. It is easy to find and is a popular meeting place for tours and other activities. From there, we will travel by bus to the ATVs.
Your tour guide will meet you in Chequerec, near Chinchero. It is about 30-40 minutes from Cusco and is where the ATVs are. Upon arrival, we will give you instructions on how to drive the ATVs before starting our adventure.
Our first stop will be at the Huaypo lagoon, surrounded by mountains and a popular place for water sports. We will spend some time here, enjoying the views and learning about the history and culture of the area.
After that, we will continue on flat terrain through part of the Sacred Valley, enjoying the landscape.
Arriving at the starting point, we will leave the ATVs and have transportation to visit the salt mines of Maras. The salt mines are interesting because they have been in operation since Inca times and are still in use today. You will have the opportunity to learn about the history and process of salt extraction and see how the blocks of salt that are sold in the market are produced.
After visiting the salt mines, we will return to Cusco by transport and drop you off one block from the Plaza de Armas.
