Pallay Punchu is famous for its naturally colored rock formations that resemble a kind of woven blanket, with patterns including shades of red, brown, orange, white and green. These formations were shaped over thousands of years by erosion and other geological processes.

The Pallay Punchu Colored Mountain, also known as “Pallay Punchu del Apu T’acllo”, is one of the newest tourist attractions in the Cusco region, Peru. Discovered and promoted as a tourist attraction in recent years, it is located in the province of Canas, in the district of Layo.

Tour itinerary Rainbow mountain Pallay Punchu 1 day:

Pick up between 4 to 4:40 am from the hotels depending on the location, 2 hour trip until we reach Cusipata where we will stop to have breakfast.

Then we will continue on our mobility, until we reach Layo for another hour and a half by transport.

Explanation and free time to take photos in the town of Layo, then we will continue by transportation to the beginning of the walk for 1 hour on foot, steep ascent route, Pallay Poncho is located at 4791 m.a.s.l.

Good physical condition is required to climb the mountain, you will have free time for photos, explanation from the guide and return to the transportation

The next stop will be at the Raqchi temple of Wiracocha to see its constructions, then we will be back to Cusco where the transportation will end one block from the Cusco main square arriving approximately 7 pm, End of the tour.
